H54F

Hey yooooou guys!  It's High Five For Friday!  All in all, it's been an untypically non-stressful week.  (I am totally okay with that!)

Anyway, as you can probably tell, my Instagram has been pretty nail polish centric this week.  Here are a few snaps from my collection....

1.- The three nail polishes I used to create the look seen in #5.  They're from Julep, Maurices & Victoria Secret./ 2.- Today I chose the It Girl box from Julep's October choices & I can't wait to get it!/ 3.- My three new polishes from Julep!  They're the introductory box for the It Girl profile./ 4.- You guessed it, more Julep!  This package was the It Girl box from July.  It came with a grayish turquoise, white, sparkly gray glitter & a red glitter with blue flecks.  Oh, and a couple bonus Atomic Fireball candies.  Those things are h-o-t!/ 5. - A sneak preview of my submission to Mani Monday this coming Monday.

Mani Monday

Ya'll know I have tiny little stubby nails.  I sit here wistfully wishing I had those long beautiful nails that are like an open canvas to work with...but alas, I don't.

But...I try to work with what I've got.  Here's what I came up with this week:

It's OK Thursday

So, yay, it's Thursday.  It's not Friday yet, but at least we've got the most of the work week behind us so...I can be OK with that.  Welcome to It's Ok Thursdays...
Its Ok Thursdays

To be overwhelmed with life...

To say "no, thank you" to an ex-friend who might be wanting a second chance (but who you really suspect just wants to be a creeper...)

To sing in the car.  It's even more okay to sing to the people staring at you in their cars while you're singing in yours.

That I waited for freaking ever for my iOS to update last night and I can't even tell what differences there are.  Are there any?

That my Pitch Perfect isn't out in theaters yet.  Although I am starting to get a little anxious because I want to see it so bad.

That I spent 4 hours cleaning MY ROOM last night and it still isn't done.

To want to be best friends with Rebel Wilson.  She's amazing.

That I'm having a fabulous birthday dinner for one of my besties tomorrow night.  It's at a Brazilian steakhouse & we lovingly refer to it as the "Swords Of Meat" restaurant.  (You have to say it in an epic knight-like voice to understand the awesomeness.)

[JULEP] My October Pick

I could not be more thrilled with the Julep colors for the month of October.  It really was difficult to decide on what box I wanted!  After a lot of deliberation, I eventually decided on the It Girl box.

The It Girl features:
It GirlCarolineCaroline—It Girl
Darkest burgundy shimmer
Reg. $14

Leslie—It Girl
LeslieBlack and silver specked shimmer
Reg. $14

Glenda—It Girl
GlendaRadiant silver metallic crackle
Reg. $14

I love that the Caroline is a dangerous looking orange-y dark red.  The silver crackle of Glenda intrigues me and well, you can never go wrong with a black/silver shimmer!  I also picked a really cool polish for my add on this month.  It's called Sofia & it glows in the dark!  How awesome is that?

Would you like to try Julep?  I'll let you in on a little secret --- you can get your first box for just one penny!  Seriously!  Head over to Julep, take the profile quiz & pick your introductory box!  At checkout, enter code "COLOR2012" and snap up your box for just once cent!

High Five For Friday

I'm feeling pretty crummy.
Seriously, I just feel rough.

I know it's High Five For Friday...and believe, me I am all for high-fiving it.  High-fiving that mofo means that the week is over and the weekend-y-times can begin!

It's been a week.  I've stayed exhausted.  Literally as soon as I get home from work, it's been a shoes-off, pj's-on, in-bed kind of week.

(help.)

So, anyway, if any of you want to cheer me up, I'll take donations in the form of macarons, warm fuzzies, sweet tea & lovely little blog comments.  Any of these things would make my day just a lil' brighter.

1.- My Birchbox came in yesterday! (will post on Monday)/ 2.- NeuroBliss is full of NeuroLies.  It should be called "A $2.50 drink that tastes like Fresca but does not make you blissful." (but I guess that won't fit on the bottle?)/3.- Yeah, I know it's rude but it's funny. (I have a weird sense of humor)/ 4.- I'm doing a countdown on my Instagram (follow me!  I'm @mstiffa)/5.- This is my cake batter work of art. (admit it, it's awesome!)

P.S. - I'm linked over at From My Grey Desk Blog for High Five For Friday.

Opinions

The amazing Rachel over at LaLa Lists started a new hop called "Opinions".  Today is the inaugural day for this soon-to-be glorious-ness.  You know you want to join in!  Details on how to link in are at the bottom of this (lengthy) post!  Now, on to me & my big mouth {aka - opinions...and some statements thrown in}.
  1. I feel like I never get enough sleep.
  2. I still (occasionally) sleep with a stuffed bear that I got in High School. (don't judge.)
  3. My favorite shows are not aimed for my 'age demographic'.
  4. There is no such thing as being too old to be creative.
  5. I get seriously pissed if there is no turkey at Thanksgiving.
  6. Ian Somerhalder is my future ex-husband.
  7. Sauerkraut should be banned.  Who wants to eat something that smells like feet?
  8. Fish is gross.  In fact, all sea food is gross.
  9. I love being in a library.
  10. People should not be allowed to have car speakers that shake windows.
  11. It is embarrassing when your butt sticks to a chair.
  12. I have never really liked any shade of pink.
  13. I could eat ice cream on the daily.
  14. It is never fun to get hit in the nose.
  15. I love love love the stacking bracelets jewelry trend.
  16. I am thrilled that sweat pants do not have elastic bands on the bottom anymore.  I want to get my lazy on & still look halfway decent, thank you.

  18. I love scary books but am a pansy when it comes to scary movies.

  20. The foot detox pads are a total scam.
  21. Why not make the mattress less crappy to begin with so that people won't need mattress pads?

  23. Is it weird that I can bend my middle fingers at the top knuckle?

Currently Crushing: Cake Stands

I'm currently crushing on cake stands.  I know that some of you are thinking "Whaaaaa?" but seriously, I am.  When I think of cake stands, I think of Marie Antoinette, stacks of macarons, beautifully decorated cakes & confections - all displayed prettily on a beautiful stand; some even encased in a protective dome.

My obsession, if you will, is all Fishs Eddy's fault.   I first read about Fishs Eddy from Joy's Hope Blog & I've been crushing hard ever since.  It's kind of a restaurant supply store, but instead of your plain, generic steel pieces, you're treated to unique, colorful fun items.

Aren't these too cute?!

Inspired By: Single Bloom

My newest bracelet from the Mayfair Bracelet Collection is called "The Lindsay".  I chose the colors of mint and coral, but instead of just using those two shades, I added in variants of each shade to create a multi-hued piece.

The Single Bloom Palette from Design Seeds serves as a lovely inspiration.  The colors are so calming & happy, it's no wonder that mint & coral have become fast friends.

The "Lindsay" retails for $17 and can be found via my Etsy or Storenvy.
