{Recipe} Pineapple Grapefruit Apple Water

Since I've gotten chunky again, I've been searching for ways to liven up plain, boring water.  I'm an admittedly picky eater so weight loss has been a little hard.  Divorcing myself from sodas has been especially hard, especially on work-days where I absentmindedly sip on a beverage all day.  I don't want to be round forever, so I had to do something!  I read on Pinterest (of course) that there are certain fruits & veggies that help curb the appetite.  It was a huge list!  Everyday foods like apples, grapefruit, mint, cucumbers, ginger, pineapple, grapefruit, lemons....they all help you feel full without driving up that calorie count.

I stopped off at the grocery store on the way to work last week and picked up some fresh pineapple slices, a grapefruit & a few apples to snack on/use for flavor in water.  I also brought a gallon pitcher to work with me so that I could make myself drink water.  I did some experimenting with flavors (note: don't mix a yellow grapefruit with a Granny Smith unless you want some seriously tart water!) and found a combination that I really like.  I ended up with 1/2 a Gala apple, roughly half a pineapple (per the portion size on the container) and 1/2 a yellow grapefruit.  It's really good!  The sweetness of the pineapple & Gala apple really balance out the sourness of the grapefruit.  I've been drinking this combo. for a week and I'm not tired of it yet!

Seeing as how there are so many different kinds of apples as well as a good number of varieties of grapefruit, your options are virtually endless!  I've made a printable recipe card below, in case anyone wants to try this recipe for yourself.  Try it out when you have time!  I'd love to hear what combinations you used to create your perfect tasting water.  Feel free to leave your variation in the comments below:)
