{Coming Soon} Nectresse Frosting

It's no secret that I'm trying to lose weight.  I've switched from sugar to Nectresse & I've been experimenting with ways to make delicious treats using this sweetener as an alternative to sugar.  Next Monday (5/6/13) I will be sharing my recipe for 'fake' buttercream frosting.  I think you'll really enjoy it.  It lets you make cupcakes that look as delicious as the ones I made today (photo below)!

You can read the reviews on Nectresse via the Influenster page by clicking here.  See you Monday!

Tuesday's Tunes!

I missed Tuesday's Tunes last week and was bummed about it all day Wednesday.  Thankfully, I remembered today!

Today's tune is Hole In My Soul by Aerosmith.  I saw this live when I was in High School (I'm totally dating myself here) with my then-boyfriend & our two best friends.  It was when Aerosmith's 'Nine Lives' album had just come out.  It was an amazing concert!

I remember watching this video on TRL (dating myself again!) all the time, but had no idea who the people in the video were until a few years later.  See if you can spot Eva Mendes, Alexandra Holden, Branden Williams, and Seann William Scott...they're all in the video!

Attempting Organization

Here's a sneak peek into how I (attempt to) keep everything organized.  Working on two blogs plus keeping my everyday life in order isn't easy, but with the help of a good planner, anything is possible!

A To Z --- All About Me!

This morning I was browsing through one of my April Sponsor Blogs, Mama & Co., & saw this little number.  I decided I had do it since I don't really have a big, fancypants About Me section plus it's a way for all you lovelies to get to know me better.  Who knows?  Maybe we'll have something in common?

A: Available or Married?
Not married but not available.  My bf & I have been together over 8 years and truthfully, I like things just the way they are.  I've never been the "had to get married girl".  I'm not knocking those who do, it's just not for me.
B: Book?
I just started reading A Dangerous Inheritance by Alison Weir.  I'm such a nerd for historical fiction.
C: Cake or Pie?
I'd most definitely say cake...unless it's Chocolate Meringue Pie we're talking about.  Then I'd tell you to hand it over.  Back away from the pie, real slow like, and no one gets hurt.
D: Drink of Choice?
Probably peach tea or mint tea.  If you have a Sonic anywhere near you, head there now and get a big peach mint sweet tea.  You can thank me later.

E: Essential Item?
I know it's so cliche, but probably my phone.  I check blog posts, email, etsy, FB, etc. on that little monster.
F: Favorite Color?
Tiffany Blue.  Pretty much anything blue or green, actually.
G: Game to Play or Watch?
To play - street hockey.  I know that is crazy random (plus I haven't played since High School) but I looooove street hockey.

H: Hollywood or Hometown?
I think that I'd like to visit Hollywood but that I'd live more Hometown.  I don't want to live in my hometown, though.  Does that make sense?
I: Indulgence?
The thing I indulge myself into the most would be sweets.  I'm like 12-steps addicted to macarons and fro-yo & the weight on the scale reflects that.  *wah wah wah*
J: Job Title
I'm a little bit of everything.  I have a full time job plus I run two blogs and an Etsy store, am the primary grocery shopper, house cleaner & pet caregiver.  Oh, and I take care of the bills, laundry & whatever else that comes along.
K: Kids and Names?
I don't have kids but I have three pets.  Does that count?

L: Life is Incomplete Without?
My little family.  Someone once told me that family doesn't have to mean blood relation & that's definitely true.  My boyfriend & I have created this little family with us & our pets and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

M: Music Group?
I'm not really bogged down my a musical genre, although I can honestly say that country is NOT my jam.  You won't ever hear me listening to country, unless it's a rare occurrence where an old Dixie Chicks song is on the radio.  I think my favorite bands are Dave Matthews Band, No Doubt & Smashing Pumpkins.  I listen to so many different bands that it makes me grateful for Pandora - you get to listen to songs you love without using all the memory in your phone or running up a massive iTunes bill!
N: Number of Siblings?
One.
O: Oranges or Apples?
Do clementines count as oranges? I love those little things.  I also have a soft spot for Granny Smith apples sprinkled with salt.  (don't judge)
P: Phobias/Fears?
I don't think I've got any phobia but I sure as hell don't like spiders or snakes.  No thank you, ma'am.
Q: Quote?
I've got a Quotes Board on Pinterest but these are a few of my favorites:

R: Reason To Smile?
Even when I'm having an awful day, I get to come home to the boyfriend & our pets and I guarantee you at least one of them will do something goofy to make me smile.
S: Season?
All of them, I think.  I know that we all start complaining when we feel that Winter has gone on too long or that Summer is just.so.hot, but that's the beauty of the world - we get to experience a myriad of weather.  I'm appreciative of that.
T: Tattoos?
None & it's staying that way.

 U: Unknown Fact About Me?
I don't know what to put here?  Are there really any facts about yourself that at least one person doesn't know?  Ooooh that was deep(ish).
V: Vegetable You Love?
Broccoli, carrots, potatoes, corn.

W: Worst Habits?
Buying shoes (heels specifically) since I rarely get to wear them, sometimes lacking motivation, buying plants & unintentionally killing them, buying make-up that I don't need (at this point, my room looks like a cosmetics counter).
X: X-Rays?
I'm not sure that I've ever had one.  Does a CAT Scan count?
Y: Yummy Food?
If it's tasty, I'll want to eat it.  See "I" for more information.
Z: Zoo Favorites?
Penguins & bats.  Yeah, I know, you're all like "bats?!" but I think they're cute!
Hey readers!  Are you going to make an A To Z?  I'd love to read it!  If you do, post your link below so I can check it out:)

Freaking-A Friday

Ugh....this is just classic Tiffany.  I mean, really.  I am the world's WORST at keeping a blog design.  Just when I get what I like, I think of something I'd probably like better so I have to change it.  Basically, you guys, prepare for a new look on here....again.  Soon-times.

I'm the most indecisive person ever.  Or maybe I'm too decisive?  I like it, I go for it.  Then I like something else.  Does that make me bi-polar decisive?

Anyway.

I'd like to introduce you to Freaking-A Friday.  I was trying to think of a fun name for a day where I could share my WTF's of the week and what better day to blow off steam derived from the world around you than Friday, the "traditional" end of the work week?  Yeah, that's what I thought too.

Freaking-A Friday is where for all of us out there that are tired of being silent about the things we give the side-eye to.  The things that make you go hmmm...?  The things that piss you off, make you face-palm or just plain make you wonder.  The things...well, you get the idea.

Life Of A Lost Muse

Anyway.  Grab a button & link up!  Let's do this!

Ryan Cabrera, can we talk?  You made news last week for the first time in a long time but....what were you thinking, there guy?  I realize that like 10 years ago you did a semi-popular song about how cute you thought Ashlee Simpson was, pre-nose job, and that's why I even know who you are but I feel like I need to tell you that your being in the news right now for having a Ryan Gosling tattoo is just a little bit more than a little bit sad.

Can we also talk about that hair?  You look like a crossbreed of Rod Stewart & that raccoon from Over The Hedge with a tiny bit of Pauly Shore there in the face.  No, just no.

you see it, don't you?

Amanda Bynes.  What the hell is wrong with you?  You're gorgeous, talented & have an amazing figure and yet you're all of a sudden rocking pink hair, cheek piercings and have a fetish for completely mind baffling Twitter statuses & selfie pics?  Are you okay?  Do you need help?  Blink once for yes, twice for no.  Seriously, though.  Someone get this girl help.  I've grown up watching Mz. Bynes and have always thought of her as amazingly talented and it really bothers me to see this spiral into crazytown.

Farrah Abraham, just quit it.  While I'm embarrassed to admit I've watched a little Teen Mom, I have to say that you were absolutely horrible to your parents and acted like a complete terror anytime you were on screen.  I know MTV paid you guys tons of money to be on the show so why is it that are you doing adult movies?  You're twenty-freaking-two --- can you not go to college or get a normal job?  Your daughter is going to be teased forever because of your bad decisions!

Huffington Post says you got plastic surgery recently as well.  You weren't unattractive the way you were, so why'd you have to go and spent (according to InTouch) over $21,000 that could have been used to pay for a life for you and your daughter?

{Sponsor Spotlight} Radiant Cosmetics

If you follow me on Vine (@mstiffa), you may remember when I posted this sneak peek video to let you lovely readers know that a Radiant Cosmetics review was coming & it's finally here!

Companies with a purpose fascinate me.  I mean, all companies have a purpose - to make money - but some, like Radiant Cosmetics, have a higher calling.  Radiant Cosmetics seeks to end human trafficking.  It's hard to find cause more noble than that.

You may not be familiar with what human trafficking is.  It is modern-day slavery where people profit from the control and exploitation of others. As defined under U.S. federal law, human trafficking involves the commercial exchange and exploitations of humans including forced prostitution, various forms of “labor or services,” or servitude and debt bondage.  Human trafficking is considered to be one of the fastest growing criminal industries in the world, second only to drug dealing, which it’s expected to surpass in the next two years. The United Nations estimates that 27 million people are trafficked annually.

Nicole, the founder of Radiant Cosmetics, has a passion to help kiss slavery goodbye.   Did you know that the worldwide cosmetics industry is a $170 BILLION dollar generating industry...per year?!  The cosmetics industry dominated by females; coincidentally, they are the people most vulnerable to human trafficking.  Statistics show that 80% of those trafficked are female, between the ages of 10-35.  Radiant Cosmetics takes a portion of each sale and uses it to help fund education that empowers women to fight back against this injustice, as a large portion of those trafficked are uneducated and live in poverty-like conditions.

Radiant Cosmetics truly is "Beauty With A Purpose".  Check out the stunning products available below.  Just know that with your purchase you are helping end human trafficking forever.

These Tribal-ed Times...

I don't know what it is, but I just really love this dress!  It's a steal at $20 on sale through JCP so I just had to get it.  The color are a little more Fall to me than Spring but with these cooler days we've been having, it totally works.  I just added a cropped denim jacket, belt, sheer tights and boots to complete the look.  It makes a dressy-ish style dress seem a lot more casual and a lot more fun.

These Tribaled Times

Tuesday's Tunes

So....I missed Tuesday's Tunes last week.  I realized it Wednesday morning but, you know, it was too late.  Today, however, I'm tuned up and ready to share.    Leslyn's Lovely Life is where you link up so come on!  Pick & song & play along:)

Leslyn's Lovely Life

What is Tuesday's Tunes, you ask?  It's simple - just pick a tune and play it.  Simple huh?  It totally is.  If it has a video, put that bad boy up too.  Today's song is 'A Lover's Concerto' by The Toys.  There's a story behind this choice, of course.  About 8 years ago I was waiting tables at a pizza place and a lady had this song as her ring tone.  I had one of those deja vu moments and took me a while to remember that I'd been obsessed with this song when I was in like 4th grade.  I asked the lady what the song was but she couldn't remember so I sat on it for years, trying to remember what it was.

A few years later, my boyfriend was watching "Mr. Holland's Opus" while I was playing on the computer.  Mr. Holland plays Minuet In G Major (Although often attributed to Bach himself, the "Minuet in G major" is now believed to have been written by Christian Petzold.) but a girl in his class mistakes it for A Lover's Concerto, a song that came out in the time period the movie was set in.

BAM!  There it was, I FINALLY had the name of my song!  I remember being ecstatic...and completely freaking out my boyfriend, who had no idea why I was so excited about a snippet of a song played in a movie.

Ladies & Gentlemen, I give you....A Lover's Concerto ---

[Mani Monday]

Ughhhhh I am so bad at this!  I try to remember to paint my nails and take photos and do the whole Mani Monday thing but #1- I have these short, stubby nails that don't look anything like the gorgeous nails you see on most blogs & #2- I suck at remembering to do this!

So here are a few of my Mani Monday's from weeks past that I forgot to post.

I loved this one!  Both the Pure Ice (in Saddle Me Up) & the Nicole by Opi (in A Million Sparkles) complimented the blues & greens in the Kiss Nail Dress (in Push Up) so well!

I used Kiss Nail Dress in Babydoll as an accent to Essie's Mint Candy Apple for this subtle Spring look.

My It Girl Box from Julep (left to right - Mackenzie, Abbie & Eden) came in on Saturday and I couldn't decide what color to use so I picked them all plus added Color Club's Flamingo & Pure Ice's Twisted to create a look that my boyfriend called very "Kelly Kapowski".  (I'll take that as a compliment.)

So this is Spring?

Surprise, surprise.  It's chilly again!  Fortunately, I had already decided I'd had enough of dress pants and the question "What can I wear to work and not freeze?" popped into my head.  This outfit is the brainchild of being too lazy to do laundry & reaaaaaally being over wearing sweaters & dress pants
all.
