Friday's Fancies (& Back That Azz Up)

You may remember the dress in this week's Friday's Fancies from a post I did last October (here).  I've decided to revisit that dress and make a style set for Springtime.  The dress has such a vibrant coral color that I think will work well in the Spring.

belt, $19.83//dress, $99.95 (sold out) similar here & here//sandals, $24.50//bracelet, $15//purse, $39.95//earrings, $15.99

It's time to link up with Whitney of I Wore Yoga Pants and #BackThatAzzUp!  This song will forever remind me of the house party scene in Mean Girls.  It's also a great song to workout to!

Are you ignoring your followers?

I've noticed that one of the main things bloggers overlook is that they might be accidentally ignoring their followers.  I know some of you are thinking "Um, no I'm not.  Why would I be doing that?"  The thing is, you might be doing it without even knowing.

When I was a baby blogger, I thought that by replying to a reader's comment on my blog meant that the reader would know that I had written back.  I WAS WRONG.  So so wrong.

So here you are, thinking you're interacting with your readers when you're actually not.  Bummer.  The only way they'll know if you responded is if they check that post again...which isn't highly likely.  It's true that other people commenting can see that your responses, so in that way, I guess it's good?  Just remember that the person you're responding to won't know you've written back.

The technical "right way" to respond to your follower is to reply through the email notification that gets sent to you when someone comments on your blog.  Responding this way will assure that the person who commented gets a response from you personally.  This method will also leave your comments section free of your replies.  It's a bit of a double edged sword, I guess?

You may run into the dreaded No Reply Blogger.  If you do, there's no way for you to respond back to them.  In this instance, I do suggest you comment directly on the post since that is the only way they might possibly see it.

I tend to reply both on the blog post and in an email so that the commenter knows I care that they took the time to leave a message.

Little Known Fact:  If you have Google+ then you're automatically a No Reply Blogger; that is, unless you've used a tutorial to fix it.  I highly recommend this amazing tutorial from Venus Trapped In Mars.  It helped me get rid of my No Reply Blogger curse.  There you have it!  Get to socializing!

Influenster J'Adore VoxBox (& #BackThatAzzUp)

Ooh la la!  A lovely Valentine box was sent to me from those wonderful people over at Influenster.  This particular VoxBox has some really great goodies inside.  Let's dive in to the J'Adore VoxBox....

Everyone loves kisses.  Hershey's Kisses!  They sent me a huge bag of sweet little pink, red & silver wrapped smoochies to share with my friends.  #LoveandKisses

Someone down at Influenster HQ must be psychic because they sent me some John Frieda Frizz Ease 3-Day Straight Flat Iron Spray!  This bad ass little bottle makes your frizzy hair stand at attention!  Flat iron once and it'll stay perfectly straight for three days!  #3DaysStraightLove

I loves me some falsies but am horrible at putting them on.  These KISS Looks So Natural Lashes blend in with your actual lashes so it just looks like you got a subtle boost of pretty little lashes.  #KISSlashes

It's no secret that I love hot tea.  These Red Rose Simply Indulgent Teas come in four flavors (I was only send the Creme Caramel but it was seriously delish) like the aforementioned Creme Caramel, Cinnamon Streusel, Lemon Chiffon & Peach Cobbler.  If you like hot tea, I suggest you get some!  #SimplyIndulge

Every girl likes a clean face, am I right?  The Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask is nice & hypo-allergenic for people like me who break out easily.  The mask absorbs oil while the clay has a negative electrical charge (sounds scary but it totally isn't) which draws out those nasty impurities.  #PowerOfPlants

Peep my Vine video to see a quick snapshot of all the products.

It's time for #BackThatAzzUp Friday!  I'm gonna go have fun with these awesome products and listen to some awesome music while I'm at it!

On The Bookshelf

I love to read.  Always have.  Truth be told, I used to get carsick when I was younger if I didn't read...for most people, it's the opposite.  There's something thrilling about absorbing the words on the pages and creating the scenes in your mind.  Right now I'm reading a book called Royal Babylon by Karl Shaw.  It was a suggested read from my friend Kate of Hesson Haus

I'm about halfway through and I can't explain it any other way than describing it as a gossip column from the middle ages.  The book details little known sordid facts about European Royals.  It's really an interesting read!

What have you been reading?  Any good book suggestions you'd like to share?

{FREEBIE} Printable Wall Art

I have a wall in my room that is decorated in nothing but framed printables (similar to the photo above).  I love printable art as it's a cheap & easy way to have awesome home decor.  I created this printable for you lovelies as I really like this quote plus I think it would look cute in a collage.  All you have to do is right-click to save the file and print in whatever size you like!

If you print it & use it in your home, I'd love to see what you did with it!  Get creative!  Pin a photo of it and send me the link & I'll feature it in a post.

So your Pinterest was hacked?

I've heard of Facebook & Twitter accounts getting hacked but until yesterday, I never would have thought someone would hack a Pinterest account.  I guess I'm naive.  Pinterest just didn't seem like something someone would hack.  Well, I was wrong.  Totally & completely wrong.

My Pinterest was hacked yesterday by someone from France who not only changed my name and location, they deleted all my blog URL's and posted URL's of their own.  You have to ask yourself why someone would do that?  At least that is what I'm asking myself.

If you've seen spam from Pinterest on your Facebook & Twitter, pins or boards popping up that you know you didn't make or even possibly have pins reappearing that you know you've deleted, you've probably been hacked.

The first thing you should do is reset your password.  Hit those hackers where it hurts and lock them out!

Once your new password is set, it's time to delete any pins and boards that you didn't make.  You may want to contact Pinterest to let them know you were hacked so they can be on alert.  Check your boards often to make sure all unwanted action is gone.
Overall it should be a simple process.  I guess it goes to show that there are jerks out there who will really try to hack into anything. If this happened to you, be proactive and takes the steps necessary to make sure you get your account back!

    A Mulligan On This Day.

I'm just going to lay it out here - I need a mulligan on this day.  My shoes are soaked & freezing cold, my umbrella broke and even though I have the heat set to 80 degrees, it just won't get cold in my office.  I'm exhausted since apparently a consistent amount of sleep was not in my forecast...oh, and someone hacked my Pinterest.  SERIOUSLY.  Who hacks a friggin' Pinterest?  Were they just too lazy to pin their own pins?  Hmmm?  I'd really, truly like to know.  (It's fixed, btw...)

There are literal sheets of ice on my windows.  True story...I rolled down my window this morning so I could see better to pull out of the driveway and the sheet of ice that was on it stayed up.

I'm not gonna lie, it did make me feel a little better to judo punch the ice sheet...until some of it came inside the car.  Fubar.
