Messy Buns & New Prints

I just have to laugh at how life changes. On the weekends, I used to spend the evening getting ready and then going out with my friends, staying out until the wee hours of the morning. It doesn't feel like those college/mid-20's nights were that long ago, but yet here I am on a Saturday night - hair in a seriously messy bun, nerdy glasses & pj's on - typing up a blog post on the new designs I just released in the life of a lost muse screen-print shop.

As most of you know, I took a long (longer than I'd expected) break from blogging. I was just getting burned out on all the expectations, deadlines, etc. that I just needed to separate myself from the stress for a while. But then, lo and behold, I start to miss it. A little at first and then a lot. I'd see something or want to make something and think, 'this would be a great blog post!'...but I wasn't blogging at the time so I just tucked ideas away in this notebook I kept in my purse.

In the mean time, I opened an Etsy jewelry store, then another, then an online screen printing store (links to each store are in the sidebar in case you want to peruse). You'd think that would be more stress, but it wasn't. It was actually a creative relief. I discovered that becoming a maker allowed me to stretch my creative bones, relieve some stress, provide a bit of a supplemental income for my family and, most importantly, I'd found something that actually made me happy.

Don't get me wrong, I still work a full time job (with a one hour commute to & from each day) but the creative stuff doesn't seem like an extra burden; it's more of a wind-down from the day, which is awesome. Plus, we could seriously use the extra income since The Boy's gall bladder decided to rupture two weeks before his insurance kicked in. Oh, and student loans, because yeah, you can't forget about those!

So, anyway, long story short, I just wanted to say hey, lovely blog readers, here are the newest designs to my screen-print shop. I'm having a lot of fun with this and I hope it shows. (P.S. - everything is marked 20% off right now.  Whoop Whoop!) Clink the links below the collage to get a better look at everything.
